Stainless steel is fabulous, especially for kitchen appliances. The Ozeri salt and pepper grinder is made of stainless steel and plastic, It is stylish and modern looking with an open view area to see how much salt and pepper you have left.  

The process of putting the salt and pepper in the grinder is explained very well on a little sheet they include with your grinder. At first I was confused but after a few minutes I figured it out and I was very impressed with how easy and non-messy it was. The bottom comes off easily and opens with a finger flick if you don't want to take the whole bottom off to get your salt/pepper and just one to use one side. The S and P on the top is great too so that you do not mess up and grind the wrong seasoning instead of the one you want!

In terms of the grind on this, I love the pepper side. It grinds my peppercorns perfectly and each turn grinds it just a little and finely so you don't waste pepper. The salt side however does not grind the salt fine enough for me. It is not as fine as iodized salt is and there is A LOT of salt even after one turn of the handle. For someone who does not use salt often or much of it when I do, this is a waste since you can't put it back into the grinder. So I recommend a half turn of the grinder just to test it out and see if you need so much salt.
