Yuki is about to face an army of lost souls on Samhain, the night of Halloween, when the spirits of the dead roam free. Yuki will need all the help she can get from her friends. But will Calvin be there for her when she needs him the most?
Yuki, Emma, Calvin and Simon are back! The book starts where She Smells The Dead left off. Its near Samhain and Yuki must find a way to deal with the Spirit Storm that will be let loose when the veil between her world and the spirit world is thinned. However, a new threat is added when one of Cals clan is murdered and another stolen! Contending with spirits and murderors is a stressfull job for Yuki, good thing she has her friends to help!
Just like the first book we are told the story through Yukis eyes (and mind) she is still sassy, still stylish and still kick-butt. Her romance with Cal is even better and its very believable no matter how many times Yuki goes on in her mind about how much she loves Cal, I still went 'awwww' througout the book. Emma and Simon are still argueing but theres an underlying and hopefull chemistry to them this time. Oh! also it seems Our lovely vegan has also picked up a serepentine skill..
The writing and pace are wonderful and witty. This book can make me laugh and gasp in 'oh my goodness what will happen next' fashion. Its truely a great book. There are even anime and jpop references! (now tell me what other book has that? none!) A unique story and great cast make Spirit Storm a book to read, just be sure to pick up the first book She Smells the dead so you wont be left in the dark.
