Max stared at the skull and crossbones painted beneath the sun and felt his guts shrivel. Asign above the door warned NO ENTRY and depicted a snarling black wolf. Max was stunned. What if Rose was telling the truth and the goverment really used plague wolves to attack intruders?

The court shook itself, and decided to be impatient with the princess, impatient so that they need think no worse.
But the king- did he not speak a little wildly? was it completely...proper... for a king, to praise his daughter so extravagantly?

Thoughts:
I'm having fun with this book! its written so well and thoughfully.

Review

Moonstone was read in two sittings, i kept picking it up after putting it down and wanting to see what happens next. Moonstone has a cast of interesting charactors, from Trillby the super hippie guardian spirit, Faye, Allies mom who tries to get money for an illness she does not have, to Junior an ex-gang member who all the girls want.

There is not alot I can say without giving away some good stuff but even though a fast read, Moonstone is one not to be missed, nor is the next in this series: Moon Rise.

At the start of my blog, i asked who you read with and showed a pic of my dog Panda.
Well, i got a super rare picture of all my reading buddies together!
First is Powder, the uninterested very well fed cat in the background. she likes to snuggle right up next to me and purr away.
The chihuahua that looks like shes ready for take-off with her ears pulled back is Coco my stepmoms dog, she normally isnt on my bed and i usually read with her in the living room.
Lastly, Panda. My little one is all smiles and she really is all the time, shes the goof-ball of the bunch and she goes everywhere i go, shes attached to me like glue so she is the most by my side when im reading. (and she lets me know when i need to pet her with a biiiiig drawn out sigh)

So that is my group of fuzzys who like to read with me. It would be so lonely without them!

Note - please forgive my messy room, stupid pillow and pandas food bowl on the bed.. she wont eat anywhere else.

On the eve of the hispital's demolition, six teens break in to spend the night and film a movie about ther experiences. For Derik, it's an oppurtunity to win a filmaking contest and save himself from a furture of flipping burgers at his parents' diner. For the others, it's a chance to be on TV, or for a night with no parents. But what starts as a dare quickly escalates into a nightmare. Behind the crumbling walls, down every dark passageway, and in each deserted room they will unravel the mysteries of those who once lived there and the spirits who still might

Review
I loved this book! i finished it in two sittings, i could not put it down! It starts off with Derik, then transitions to the point of views of the other five students. Mimi - a goth girl who isnt moody or drugged out or likes what stereotypicly is expect of goths. Chet - the clown with a dark secret. Liza - the perfect, modelesque girl whos goal is to become a doctor. Greta (AKA Ashley) and Tony - two theatre/drama performers and an item.

I enjoyed seeing everything from the others POVs, the story flowed very well when they transitioned to another POV picking right up where the other left off, it was stylized well. During the book youll really get to know the personalities of the cast. Depending on your preferences you will be siding with one more then the other, I personally liked Mimi the best and Liz the least.

The setting of the book is dark, dreary and with the occasional smarmy quip (curtosy of Chet mostly). It really sets the mood  and makes the mental hospital all the more creepy. The book has its mushy cliche themes (everyone ends up with someone..) but that can be overlooked even if it was predictable.
If you pay attention closely you can find a hidden morale to the story: Things (nor people) are what they seem on the outside or what you have heard of them.

The cover for Project 17 depicts Derik and i am guessing Liz descending into the hospital and the monotone black/blues give it a ghostly feel, which is fitting. If you find this book at your local library or bookstore i recomend you check it out, if you like ghost stories or just a light read youll like this one.
