Description from Goodreads

Have you ever wondered what would happens to a werewolf in the vampire/zombie apocalypse?

When Layne Yow finds herself smack in the middle of a full fledged zombie apocalypse she does what any werewolf would do...she calls bullshit on the universe. Sure, there are vampires, werewolves, and other assorted paranormal creatures in the world, but zombies? No freakin' way.

Layne is a young werewolf on the run from her recent past as an elite vampire killer. She quickly finds out that you can't outrun life or absurdity. Layne's big mouth and desire to rescue everyone puts her (and her new friends) into harm's way more than once.

Werewolves, Zombies, Vampires? Oh my!

Yup you get all three in this nice debut from J. E. Fletcher. While they are not explained so well (we know there is a war going on between wolves and vampires and the zombies just showed up suddenly) it sets up a nice cushy detail zone for book number two (Shadow Burn).

Layne our leading lady is.. alright. I like my ladies tough as nails but Layne would not have lacked had she shown some vulnerability. She compartmentalizes and always brings forth her battle hardened persona. I hope our main man Brandon can start to change that side of her and make her more likable throughout the series.

While there is some action and good zombie decapitation/squishing the main bulk of the story was just Layne and her friends trying to survive and find survivors. This is okay but it got a bit old sometimes, I like my action. The twist near the end was good though and sets up well for the next book, and Claudette? I think she is very interesting and I can't wait to see what becomes of her and Dawn.

I have just one question though. Demons were mentioned do we get to see any? I hope so!
