Gauntlgrym. The place of Bruenors death, of pwent and supposedly jarlaxle and athrogrates deaths as well. A place of heartache for Drizzt, and now he must go back. Along with Artemis and Dahlia he they must throw Charon’s Claw into the primordial pit and destroy it, and thus destroying Artemis. It wont be easy however, Herzgo Alegni is still around and bent on reclaiming Dahlia and getting revenge on Artemis, and there are new players in the game, a host of Drow who seek the mighty forges of Gauntlgrym.
Charon’s Claw started off slow for me, it took me a while to really get into it, but once I did it became very, very interesting. There is always action and intrigue and subplots and that is what I like most about these books, you always get a look at the situation from others’ eyes.
There are some nice twists and a little hint of maybe someone important coming back, which I hope he does! Always expertly written, Salvatores books are sure to keep you hooked from the get-go.

QUESTION: Who is your favorite villain from a book?
Oh goodness! This is difficult, I have so many. I guess my first favorite is from my most favorite book A Whisper Of Wings by Paul Kidd, Zhukora. She is evil and misguided and trajic in the book and i fell in love with her and cried at the end. (she is the black fox girl) 
My second has to be Lolth the Spider Queen from the Legend of Drizzt series in the Forgetten realms novels, she is evil personified, everything done in her name is black and tainted and painful, she loves chaos and torture.
As you can see i enjoy my female villians, but if i had to pick a male villian i would say... Voldemort! he sets the entire Harry Potter series, without him the series would not have been so thrilling, he was cunning and spooky and a bit sad.

With us today is Liesel Hill author of Persistence of Vision the first book in the Interchron series.
Good morning! I’m so excited to be here! Thank you so much to Jessica for hosting me at Far From Reality. While trying to decide on a topic, I noticed that Far From Reality has a page about mythical creatures. Well, my book doesn’t really have any mythical creatures, but it does have some unique baddies that aren’t exactly real world. I thought I’d talk about them and my journey to create them.
While the true “bad guys” of the story are the collective at large, and an intangible presence we’re only vaguely introduced to in Book 1 who calls himself B, the most obvious villains in Persistence of Vision are the Arachnimen.
I tried to think of the things that scare the most people to the greatest extent. What I came up with was clowns and spiders. Well, clowns were kind of out. Just didn’t fit the story. (Besides I was writing a screenplay at the same time that dealt with killer clowns, so…) So I went with spiders. I gave the bad guys a spider’s web tattoo over one of their eyes. The center of the web should be right over the orb of their eye. (The cover picture is slightly off. It also made them kinda cute, where in the book I describe them as kind of greasy and gross, but it makes for a prettier cover, right?)
I also gave them aggression, neurochemical powers, and tons of intimidation. But it doesn’t end there! There’s actually a “Bad-Guy Hierarchy.” Arachnimen are just the lowest on the totem pole. They’re the mindless goons. A notch up from them are Trepids (from the word trepidation). They are bigger, scarier, more powerful, and just plain nastier. I strong believe in having levels of evil in a serialized story. That way, the stakes can always rise.
The real question you need to be asking yourself by the end of the novel is, Is there a third, higher tier? Hmmm. Wouldn’t that be interesting. ;D

The trees, exotic in shape in their own right, became even more peculiar when viewed through the veil of mist. They took on twisted, warped forms half hidden behind curtains of gauzy light. They challenged the senses thrusting from the ground at odd angles.

Prince Jorg is on a mission of revenge. Revenge for his fallen mother and brother who were killed in front of his eyes at the young age of six. Ever since he walked out on his princely life at age ten he has been running with a band of sell swords (his ‘brothers’) and at fourteen he is the leader.
The story was a good one and Jorg was a very... violent main character, defiantly something I am not used to. I mean VERY violent, there is not a person he doesn’t imagine killing or dissecting or just tearing apart. This was a nice change but you would think he would want some allies! Speaking of allies, his brothers are a rough group but each have good personalities.
The book toggles between the present and the past four years of the sell-sword life, bringing in his past and letting us really feel who he is. It also at the end of each chapter has little snippets giving us more info on his brothers and a few tidbits of other things as well, I enjoyed this and though it a great addition.
The ending was rather good, it defiantly set up well for the second book in the series. The cover is nice as well, the guy does look fourteen and it has drama to it. All in all a satisfactory novel and one I will continue the series on.

I really want to do more tours and author interviews, i have been sorely lacking in those categories. I do not think i did ANY interviews last year (shame on me!) I also want to do more original posts and get my Monday Mythical Creatures back up and running. In essence I resolve to stop being so darn lazy!

The Draug. Evil beyond evil. They have come to decimate the vampires of Morganville, and whats worse, the vampires are powerless to stop them. The draug feed on blood, but they especially love vampire blood, they feed by being liquid gel-like being and sucking blood with acidy like bites or pokes from the skin. Sound painful? It is.
So of course it is up to Claire and Co. to find a solution and end the draug problem, which can only be achieved by killing the master draught Magus, but Claire is the only one who can see him. This installment of the long running series was in my opinon much much better than the last one (Last Breath) It had its action, its angst and its love. There were twisty twists (Jason!!) and the usual vampire/human fighting.
The only thing I think I had a problem with was they always seem to focus on Shane for some reason, hes always the one getting kidnapped or hurt or whatever, give someone else a turn! Okay, that sounded a bit sadistic, but really… the book is quite good and I am so happy for that ending.

Oh My Gosh! just look at that cover! all the books in this trilogy have fantastically beautiful covers, I wish more books employed artists like this instead of having the generic female face/body on the front.
